No Kick-Off Classic at The Ralph

By Miguel Rodriguez

Upon further review, the quest for some teams to reach The Ralph for championship games will not begin at the home of the Buffalo Bills on opening night of the high school football season.

According to an email from Section VI chairman Ken Stoldt, he writes that the planned Kick-Off Classic tripleheader for opening night (Friday, Sept. 5) at Ralph Wilson Stadium "will not get off the ground this year, at least not at Ralph Wilson Stadium." According to Stoldt, Bills officials informed him that they will need the time between the team's final preseason game Aug. 28 at The Ralph and the home opener against the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 14 to complete the on-going stadium renovation project.

Stoldt holds out some hope in the email that the Kick-Off Classic could still happen if the section finds a suitable venue to host the games.

In the interim, the three games slated for Ralph Wilson Stadium will be played at the home fields of the teams originally scheduled to host those contests.
